Objects and Fields

These learning modules are meant to aid in the construction of educational material at the undergraduate level. They are organized by spatial concept and have applications in a variety of disciplines. In this way, these materials can be used a reference for lectures and labs when a particular spatial concept needs introduction, explanation, or examples from other disciplines. Each concept module contains three sections: Learning Objectives, Teaching Resource, and Relevant Links.

The Learning Objectives list important questions that can help measure comprehension of a particular concept.

The Teaching Resources section contains classroom activities that demonstrate the spatial concept and example GIS tools that could be used to create new activities.

The Relevant Links should help provide a starting point for lecture slides or talking points pertaining to the spatial concept.

All lecture and lab material resources listed are links to the sites that host them.
