Infection of a monolayer of LLC-RK1 cells with equine herpesvirus strain LK (EHV-2) results in cytopathic effects (CPE), characterized by syncytium formation, or polykaryocytosis, i.e., fusion of adjacent cells to form a multinucleate cell.
In this chapter we develop student’s appreciation of the ‘first order’ basic spatial concepts of location, scale, adjacency, distance, and projection as well as the variety of ways by which they can be ‘measured’ in different ‘spaces.
