Western Carolina University’s College of Education and Allied Professionals has compiled a coherent and thorough examination of spreadsheets. From spreadsheet history to an introduction to spreadsheet development for schoolchildren, this comprehensive page provides much information about creating, adding, and developing spreadsheets. Especially important are links to spreadsheet tutorials, most of which are in video format and all of which involve step-by-step instructions on how to create basic or extremely complex spreadsheets. While Excel is the most prominent program used for this purpose, Western Carolina University does not omit all other programs, so both students and teachers will appreciate the training provided here. Furthermore, by putting spreadsheets into an historical context, this training is presented to the reader in a position of development, with a good discussion of where spreadsheets may go in the future. The information posed here is intended to inspire tomorrow’s computer programmers to take spreadsheets to a new, more innovative level.
