These 46 images effectively present a summary of the United States Antarctic Program, America’s principal expression of interest in the region. The National Science Foundation periodically updates this set of images and is eager to consider adding good images, especially those depicting science. Each image or photograph at this site has a brief explanation and a note of credit. There is also information about and links to collections of Antarctic images that the Foundation maintains, an online library of digital images of current science and support activities in Antarctica, and an archival collection of slides, photographs, and videos. The images of the archival collection and the ones at this site show science at Antarctic stations and camps, support work, vehicles, aircraft, ships, and Antarctica’s vegetation, wildlife, mountains, and ice.
